Acceptance of your installation before commissioning
The RGIE conformity inspection is mandatory before any commissioning. Certinergie intervenes within 48h.
The conformity inspection (RGIE Part 6, Chapter 6.4) verifies that an electrical installation complies with all requirements of the General Regulations on Electrical Installations before its initial commissioning.
Administrative checks
Verification of single-line diagrams, position plans, EAN code and full installation file.
Visual inspection
Inspection of cable integrity, safety distances, signage, protection devices and equipment installation.
Tests and measurements
Insulation measurement, earth resistance, conductor continuity, residual-current device test, loop impedance check.

The RGIE requires a conformity inspection before commissioning in the following cases:
New construction, new building: every installation must be accepted before initial use.
Adding a circuit, non-identical replacement of a panel, installing PV panels or EV charging points.
Any request to upgrade the connection power to the public distribution network.
Offices, shops, workshops, industries: mandatory periodic inspection every 5 years (annually for some).
→ Conformity inspection mandatory before commissioning
→ No mandatory inspection, but a written description must be kept

Whether you are an electrical professional or a homeowner, Certinergie tailors its service to your needs.
To obtain a positive conformity report, the following documents must be presented to the inspector:
Single-line diagram
Representation of the installation: circuits, sections, protections, RCDs, sources (PV, battery, inverter).
Position plan
Plan showing the physical location of each element: panels, sockets, lights, switches, fixed machines.
EAN code
18-digit code identifying your connection, available on your energy bill.
Technical documentation
Datasheets of installed equipment, equipment conformity certificates.
Good to know: Certinergie does not charge any extra for drawing the mandatory sketches for installations dating from after 1981.
The conformity inspection follows a strict protocol defined by the RGIE (Part 6, sections 6.4.2 to 6.4.5).

The Royal Decree of 6 October 2025 thoroughly amends Books 1 and 2 of the RGIE. These changes directly affect conformity inspections, particularly for installations involving direct current (DC): photovoltaics, storage batteries, EV charging points.
Flat-rate pricing, no surprises. Sketches included, instant digital report.
Conformity inspection report issued by an approved body, valid for 25 years if compliant.
Insulation values, earth resistance, RCD test – all the technical data.
If non-compliant: a clear, prioritized list of points to fix, with RGIE references.
Report sent by email at the end of the inspection. Also available in your digital workspace.
As soon as the positive report is issued, you can connect your installation to the grid and request your meter to be opened with your DSO (ORES, Sibelga, Fluvius).
Approved by the FPS Economy (563-INSP). Reports recognised by all DSOs, notaries and authorities.
Booking within 48h, even urgent. Ideal to avoid blocking a project or connection.

What is the difference between a conformity inspection and a sale inspection?
The conformity inspection (RGIE 6.4) verifies that a new or modified installation complies with the RGIE before commissioning. The sale inspection (RGIE 6.5) is a periodic inspection performed when a property is transferred. Both produce an official report, but the inspection scope differs.
What happens if my installation is non-compliant?
You receive a report listing each issue with the relevant RGIE reference. You must correct the defects and request a new inspection. The installation cannot be commissioned until it is declared compliant. The re-inspection must be carried out by the same body.
Are diagrams required for the conformity inspection?
Yes, single-line diagrams and position plans are mandatory for a conformity inspection. Without these documents, the report will automatically be non-compliant. Your installer should normally provide them. See our guide on electrical diagrams for more information.
I am installing solar panels — do I need an inspection?
Yes, installing a photovoltaic system is considered a major modification. A conformity inspection is mandatory before commissioning. With RGIE 2026, requirements for direct current (DC) are further strengthened.
How long is the conformity report valid?
A positive conformity report for a domestic installation is valid for 25 years. For non-domestic installations, a periodic inspection is required every 5 years (or annually for some higher-risk installations).
Can the installer be present during the inspection?
Yes, and it is even recommended! The installer’s presence eases the inspection: they can explain technical choices, present documentation and immediately fix some minor points if needed.
I am upgrading my connection power — is an inspection required?
Yes, any request to upgrade the connection power on the public distribution network of a residential unit requires a prior conformity inspection, in line with the RGIE.
