Natural gas inspection for installations with power > 70 kW

Gas installations with a power greater than 70 kW are subject to standard NBN/DTD B 61-002:2021. This regulation concerns collective boiler rooms, tertiary buildings and industrial sites.

These inspections require inspectors specifically trained for complex installations, capable of intervening on advanced technical equipment: boiler cascades, modulating burners, automatic regulation systems.

When am I concerned?

The 70 kW power corresponds to the sum of the nominal powers of all your heat generators. A boiler room with two 50 kW boilers (100 kW total) requires this type of enhanced inspection.

Frequently asked questions – Natural gas high power

Answers to common questions from building managers.

The frequency depends on the type of building and regional regulations. Generally, an inspection is required every 2 to 3 years for publicly accessible buildings, and after any significant modification to the installation.

The inspector examines the entire boiler room: generators, burners, distribution network, ventilation, flue gas exhaust and safety devices. He also checks the technical documentation and maintenance register. The duration varies from 2 to 4 hours depending on complexity.

It is recommended that a person familiar with the installation be present: technical manager, trained caretaker or maintenance technician. This person can answer questions about the history and operation of the installation.

The inspector prepares a report with the anomalies found. For critical non-compliances with immediate danger, he may recommend shutting down the installation until rectification. A re-inspection at a reduced rate verifies the corrections.

Yes, our specialised inspectors work on all types of installations: industrial ovens, production processes, cogeneration, etc. We adapt our approach to production constraints and specific safety requirements of each site.
